The Beachburg Fair ATV RUN is back for 2024!

The Beachburg Agriculture Society is excited to announce the Beachburg Fair ATV Poker Run is returning this year! With a grand prize of $500, and door prizes to be won, it is sure to be a good time. 

Saturday July 6th, 2024

Pre-Registration – $30

Walk-in – $40

Extra poker hands $10 each

  • Check in: 8am – 9am
  • Rider’s meeting: 9am – 9:30am
  • Run departs: 9:30am
  • Return: 2:00 pm
  • Prizes and Drawing: 2:30pm

Starts & ends at the Beachburg Fair grounds.

Parking: Limited parking is available at the event site, first come first serve.

Rules & Regulations

Registration & Costs

  1. All riders must REGISTER for the event prior to departure
  2. Registration includes;
    a. One poker scorecard
    b. One door prize ticket
    c. One adult admission to the fair.
    d. Waiver of liability form
  3. Cost for Poker Run event registration, paid in full before departure;
    a. $30.00 – Advanced registration (Online May 1, 2024 – July 4, 2024)
    b. $40.00 – Walk in registration on day of the event July 6, 2024
  4. Additional Poker Run scorecards may be purchased for $10.00 each.(Cash Only) No
    limit to the number of scorecards participants can play.
  5. Additional door prize tickets may be purchased at one of the Poker Run Stops for $5.00
    each. (Cash Only) No limit to the number of door prize tickets that can be purchased

Rider Information

  1. All participants must have admission to the fair on the day of the event to participate.
  2. All participants must agree to, and sign a waiver of liability form prior to departure.
  3. All riders must be of legal age of majority, and possess a valid driver’s license that is
    valid for travel on Ontario roads, and public right of ways.
  4. All participants must obey any and all applicable law, act, bylaw, or regulation as it
    applies to the care, use, and operation of an offroad vehicle in ontario. Including but not
    limited to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, the Whitewater Region Off road Vehicle Bylaw,
    and the Ontario Off-Road Vehicles Act.
  5. All riders shall wear a DOT or SNELL approved helmet
  6. All riders must operate their machine in a competent and safe manner.
  7. Should a machine need to be recovered, it is up to the owner of the machine to recover
    their own vehicle in a safe and competent manner.

Machine Information

  1. The Poker Run is open to ATVs and UTVs only. (No lawn tractors, dirt bikes, bicycles,
    etc)
  2. All machines must be legally licensed, and insured to operate in the province of
    Ontario for the duration of the Poker Run event.
  3. Passengers are permitted to participate in the Poker Run, so long as the machine on
    which they ride meets the laws and regulations of the province of Ontario. (Manufacturer
    2 up machines, SxS with multiple manufacturer installed seating, etc)
  4. All machines entered into the Poker Run must be in good working order and safe to
    operate. ( Any machines deemed by the organizers to be unsafe, or unfit for use will be
    eliminated from participating in the event, and will lose the opportunity to participate in
    winning prizes.
  5. All machines should be reasonably clean and free of excessive dirt and debris, so as
    to not contaminate, or risk the transport of invasive species. (Any machines deemed by
    the organizers to be excessively dirty, or covered in debris will be eliminated from
    participating in the event, and will lose the opportunity to participate in winning prizes.)
  6. All machines participating in the Poker Run event must have a valid OFATV trail pass.
    Annual passes and day passes are available online at OFATV.org

Poker Scorecards

  1. Cards will be picked up at the designated stops on the Poker Run Route (Players are
    not allowed to pick up all cards at one single stop)
  2. Cards will be picked up one card at a time, and laid face up on the table for view.
  3. No duplicate cards can be used. (Participants must draw an additional card if an
    identical card is drawn.)
  4. The participant drawing the card will receive a unique stamp by an event volunteer on
  5. their Poker Scorecard representing the card that was drawn.
  6. If playing MORE than one Poker Scorecard, the participant must present the additional
    scorecards one at a time in the order of their choosing. (cards drawn may not be
    assigned to the scorecard of the players choosing.) Cards drawn shall be marked on the
    scorecard, and reshuffled prior to the next card drawn for the next scorecard and so on
    and so forth until all the players’ scorecards have been uniquely marked for that stop.
  7. Riders must complete the run, and all scorecards must be returned to the final stop
    (back at the fairgrounds) by 2:00pm

Prizes and Winnings – Poker Hand(s)

  1. Payout for the winning hand will be $500.00
  2. Poker Score cards must be filled out with the rider’s name, email address, and phone
    number to be eligible.
  3. Poker scorecard(s) must be returned to the final stop prior to 2:00pm to be eligible.
  4. Winning hand will be determine in the following order;
    a. Royal Flush: Run of sequential cards from Ten to Ace, with all cards of the same
    suit.
    b. Straight Flush: Run of sequential cards, all cards in the same unit, but not Ace
    high.
    c. Four of a Kind: Four cards of the same rank plus a pair; e.g. four Aces, Four
    Kings, etc.
    d. Full House: Three cards of the same rank plus a pair, e.g. three Aces and a pair
    of Kings.
    e. Flush: Five cards all of the same suit.
    f. Straight (Run): Five sequential cards, not of the same suit.
    g. Three of a Kind: Three cards of the same rank e.g. three Aces, three Kings etc.
    h. Two Pair: Two sets of pairs e.g. a pair of Aces and a pair of Kings.
    i. Pair: Two cards of the same rank e.g. two Aces, two Kings etc.
    j. High Card: If you have none of the above, then the highest value card in your
    hand plays.
  5. In case of a tie, there will be a draw for High Card, to determine the winner.
  6. All decision of the judges are FINAL

Prizes and Winnings – Door Prize(s)

  1. Door Prize entries must be filled out with the rider’s name, email address, and phone
    number to be eligible.
  2. Participant must make their door prize entries before 2:00pm
  3. To enter, participants must place their completed door prize ticket into the prize box in
    front of the door prize they wish to win.
  4. Door prize drawings will be held immediately after the winning poker hand is announced.
  5. All decision of the judges are FINAL

Trail Etiquette

  1. Alcohol and drugs are not permitted during the event.
  2. STAY ON THE TRAIL, DO NOT TEAR UP THE TRAIL and DO NOT DRIVE WITH
    EXCESSIVE SPEED, Anyone found to have broken these rules will be DISQUALIFIED
    from the poker run.
  3. Be respectful to your fellow riders. Keep in mind that different levels of riding
    experience will be on the trail.
  4. Bring all trash back to the check in location and dispose of it after the event.
  5. Some of the trail systems are “MULTI‐USE” utilized by hikers and, mountain bikers,
    please be courteous to others using the trails
  6. Use caution when approaching or passing another rider
