- There is no entry fee for Junior Fair exhibitors entering the Junior classes.
- Junior Fair exhibitors can enter Senior classes; however they are asked to pay a $5 membership fee.
- Any exhibitor can enter classes for older ages.
- Entries must be solely the work of the person exhibiting. Work done by parents, teachers etc. will disqualify the entry from the competition.
- No item may be exhibited more than one at this Fair.
- Ages are as of July 15, 2026
- Prizes for Junior classes: 1st place $4.00, 2nd place $3.00, 3rd place $2.00, 4th place $1.00, except for Creative Writing which is indicated below. Prize for Best of Class and Most Points: $4.00.
CLASS 1 JUNIOR BAKING
Baking exhibits should be on a disposable plate, entry tag attached to the plate and in a plastic bag with ziploc or twist tie closing. Multiple items are to be from the same recipe.

- 6 years and under – Draw a picture of what farming means to you.
- 7 – 12 years – Design a shoebox display to explain what agriculture means to you.
- 13 -18 years – Design a display to depict the importance of agriculture to you.

- Paper roll critter – decorate a toilet paper roll as an animal using any materials

Class 6B – YELLOW ( 5-6 years )
- Fairies at the Fair – decorate a clay or plastic flower pot as a home for a Fair Fairy to live in
- Barnyard friends – use paper plates to create a paper animal
- Corny car – make a vehicle out of corn (husks, leaves, cobs – be creative)
- Fair Fun – draw a picture of your favourite moment at the Fair
- Feathered Friends – build and decorate a bird house
Class 6C – RED ( 7-9 years )
- ‘Canada is My Home’ – draw a picture of your favourite place in Canada
- Aquarium in a Jar – create an undersea world using a variety of items (but no live animals please!)
- Rock Snake – paint some rocks and create a snake on a paper plate
- Pipe cleaner animal – use pipe cleaners and other items to create a farm animal
- Recycled race car – use any recycled items (no larger than 30 cm)
Class 6D – BLUE (10-12 years)
- Big Green Tractor – make/build a tractor using a mix of natural and recycled items (max. 30 cm)

CLASS 10 JUNIOR CREATIVE WRITING

1. Creative Writing, Ages 4-8 – Choose 1 topic
- What is your favourite book/story? Tell us why and draw a picture of yourself reading.
- What is your favourite book/story character? Tell us why and draw a picture of the character.
2. Creative Writing, Ages 9-12
Write a book about yourself or an experience you’ve had. Your entry should include the following:
- a book cover with a title, author’s name and artwork
- at least one chapter
- an author bio on the back cover- name, hometown, etc.
- 100 word minimum
CHILDREN’S PARADE
SATURDAY of the FAIR (after the Baby Show) – Meet at Neil’s Stage at Noon
Theme is AROUND THE FARM – come dressed up like something or someone you would find on the farm.
