The Beachburg Agricultural Society is hiring a summer student to support fair preparation, event
operations, and community programming. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, with a strong
focus on the lead-up to and delivery of the Beachburg Fair.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general administrative and organizational support
- Assist with event and fair preparation, including setup, coordination, and logistics
- Support fair operations, including gate duties, entry coordination, judging support, and
general troubleshooting during the event - Assist with basic communications and public inquiries
- Support setup, hosting, and cleanup of events at Heritage Hall
Canteen Operations (June)
- Work in the community canteen Monday–Thursday evenings throughout June
- Provide customer service, food service, and maintain a clean workspace
Availability Requirements:
- Must be available evenings in June for canteen shifts
- Must be available July 9–12 (Beachburg Fair)
- Must be available for several days before and after the fair to assist with setup and teardown.
- Remaining hours to be assigned through a mutually agreed upon schedule between the student and BAS
Qualifications:
- Reliable, responsible, and able to take initiative
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment
- Willing to work evenings and flexible hours as required
- Interest in agriculture, events, or community involvement is an asset
- Enrolled in a secondary, or post-secondary institution or within six months of graduation and have reached the age of 15 upon commencement of employment.
Start date: May 25 – August 31 2026
Hours available: 217.5 hours
Rate/hour: $17.60
